Warwan Valley’s remoteness and isolation compound this beauty. What makes getting into Warwan Valley even more remarkable is the crossover trail. It begins in Trans-Himalayan settings, among barren, purplish mountains around Panikhar. The trail goes through an oasis, river deltas, wildflower meadows, and glaciers – all among these stark mountains. It makes for hauntingly beautiful settings. As the trail slowly moves into the luxuriant greenery of Kashmir, after days of being surrounded by desert mountains, the effect of it is striking.

Itinerary
Srinagar – Kokernag

Pickup from Srinagar. We move towards Kokernag or Daksum where we stay the night in a guest house.
Kokernag – Margan Top – Choidraman
3-4 hrs

We directly move towards Margan Top. We park our car and start our small trek to Choharnag. There are 3-4 alpine lakes. We move from Margan Top and enter Warwan valley. Overnight stay in tents at Choidraman.
Choidraman – (via) Sukhnoi – Inshan

We move to Sukhnoi and explore the beautiful villages along the way in the Warwan Valley. We hike to a bunch of places in the valley. Overnight stay near Inshan at our campsite.
Inshan – Astangaon – Tatapani Hot Springs

The next day we move towards Astangaon which is the last road head. From there we hike to the Tatapani Hot Springs. We enjoy the day in the Hot Springs and just relax the whole day and camp near the hot springs.
Tatapani – Astangaon – Srinagar

We move from Hot Springs to Astangaon and pack everything and leave for Srinagar.
