Rupin Dhar
Founder | Trailblazer
Rupin Dhar is the founder of Zabarwan Adventures. A sustainable traveler and a nature enthusiast, he consciously decided to walk the woods after spending several years working in the social development sector in various parts of the country after graduating from TISS, Mumbai. Born in Kashmir and innately aware of the valley's flora and fauna, Rupin has been trekking since the age of 18. He now assumes the role of trek leader in many professionally organized treks in the northern Himalayas. By encouraging new formats of tourism, Rupin wishes to contribute to local employment in the valley. An engineer and a professional social worker by education; and an adventure junkie by heart, Rupin’s insatiable thirst for experiences is not limited to geography. From completing scuba diving and skiing courses to already having covered 200k kms of Indian terrain on his motor bike, the only thing that can make Rupin pause and breathe is his love for cooking! Trek with him to see the best of what they call pristine beauty.
Ravindra Singh
Trek Leader | Storyteller
Ravindra Singh is from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, is a 24-year-old college graduate with an adventurous spirit that knows no bounds. Alongside his academic achievements, he has actively pursued various courses to enhance his skills and knowledge of the outdoors. From completing Basic Mountaineering and Advanced Mountaineering level courses to acquiring expertise in Red Cross First Aid training, Basic Skiing, and Disaster Management courses from various esteemed institutes across the country. He has shown dedication to ensuring safety and preparedness in his explorations. With a remarkable track record of 55 treks and 50 tours, Ravindra’s passion for trekking, mountaineering, climbing, skiing, and swimming shines through. His exceptional people management skills further add to his capabilities as an explorer, making him an invaluable asset in any adventurous endeavor.
Mayank Attri
Trek Leader | Wanderer
Mayank Attri, hailing from Dankaur village in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, completed his schooling with a B.Com and is currently pursuing a mass communication degree from Galgotia University on the side. He has honed his mountaineering skills through courses like Basic Mountaineering, Advanced Mountaineering, and Red Cross First Aid course. With a passion for trekking and mountaineering, he has undertaken an impressive 20 treks and 15 tours, showcasing his dedication and expertise in various adventurous pursuits. Mayank’s love for the great outdoors and his training in mountaineering make him a formidable explorer, always seeking new heights and challenges in the mountains. Not to be forget, his sense of humor, he will always keep you smiling and happy.

Graduated from NIFT, Mumbai, an independent graphic designer by choice, she is highly skilled and detail-oriented in aesthetically valued and functional design with over 12 years of experience in strengthening global and msme brands by conceptualizing and implementing targeted and innovative design concepts for prestigious clients like Time Inc, Merck, IMRB Kantar, PepsiCo, Godrej, and Veolia among others. Brought up in the rich biodiversity of Assam, she often finds herself living a wanderer’s lifestyle while working on-the-go. She endorses the philosophy of Taoism and emphasizes on compassionate design practices to help build sustainable cultures by fostering an inclusive, accessible and integrated design environment. She is the creative backbone of Zabarwan Adventures.
Ramzan Kuchey
Logistics | Pillar Man
One of the most senior members of the team and the most integral one as well. He has been trekking with his herd of well trained horses for more than 50 years now. He is familiar with all the trekking routes like the back of his hand. He is a brilliant cook, an engaging story teller, am adroit person and the Swiss army Man of the operation. He is the adhesive which holds the entire team together on a trek. He is a local from Aru, Pahalgam and has been living there almost his entire life. He is the most energetic person and an active person as, he is even out during the day in the harsh winters of Kashmir with his flock of sheep in 4-5 feet snow.
Imtiyaz Kuchey
Custodian | Caretaker
Imtiyaz is also a local from Aru and the custodian of Zabarwan Adventure’s glamping retreat in Aru Valley, “Sonder Camping Retreat”. He is the one man show of the eco-glamping retreat and he takes care of the property and the clients we cater to there. He is an attentive person and caters to all needs of the clients. He has an extensive background of dealing with tourists especially foreign tourists because of his work background.
Sabzaar Kuchey
Ultimate Guide
Sabzaar aka Sahaba is the most ultimate guide as he is physically fit and has an extensive experience in mountaineering and trekking. He has summited Mt. Kolahoi 5425m on a joint expedition of NIM and JIMW&S. He was the first one to summit the peak on the expedition. He has worked with so many famous trekking companies as a senior guide in the past. On a trek he can organize anything in minutes and keeps everyone entertained with his stories and banter. He has even tried his hands at Paragliding and is a born adventure seeker who loves the wilderness.
Manzoor Kuchey
Master Chef
He is a brilliant chef and has been cooking on treks since more than 35 years now. He is innately a musician and a Sufi philosopher and performs often with his troupe of fellow local Kashmiri musicians. He had a government job as well in PHE department as a plumber. But he was always drawn to the mountains and the wilderness. Now he mostly works as Chef and loves to feed people with an addictive smile on his face, after his people skills are spectacular. He is the most fun person to be running the kitchen on a trek. He is well versed with Kashmiri Wazwan cuisine even cooks some Indian Mughlai dishes. He whips up some gastronomic masterpieces which is mostly surprising for the clients. You are in for a treat.
